Its not a diary comic (sorry folks, those are well and truly done with) but I have a book coming out and I thought, maybe, some of you might be interested. Maybe?
It’s International Women’s Day, and once more, we’re celebrating with a list that spotlights the work of 10 fantastic cartoonists. While some exceptional female names are already on comics fans’ radars—such as Fiona Staples, Emily Carroll,Kate Beaton, Jillian Tamaki, Raina Telgemeier, Eleanor Davis, Meredith Gran,Emma Rios, Noelle Stevenson, and more—the purpose of this list is to gather interesting and exceptional contemporary cartoonists who readers may not be familiar with.
If you’ve missed the various events that I’ve been hawking my wares at then never fear! There’s one left! I’ll be at ELCAF on the 20th/21st June in East London. There’ll be the usual zines, prints and awkward chat as well as a metric shit tonne of other excellent artists to far outshine me. Stick it in yer diary.
I did a full-length, single narrative comic! Its called Summer, 96, its entirely hand drawn in coloured-pencil and its about treehouses and intangible dread. Hooray!
I’ll be in the studio working the whole time, and we’ll have some prints and products available to buy. So come down and have a chat! While you’re in Forest Hill I heartily recommend a trip to St David Coffee House and a visit to Rob Lowe/Supermundane’s studio further up Havelock Walk. The Horniman Museum is round the corner too!
